ADVANCES IN DEEP FOUNDATIONS: CONSTRUCTION, DESIGN AND TESTING
Call for Papers
Sponsors: GeoInstitute (GI), Deep Foundations Committee, DFI, ADSC and PDCA
Several sessions are planned for the GeoFrontiers 2005 on Advances in Deep Foundations to highlight the contributions of late Professor M. W. O'Neill to Deep Foundations in specific and geotechnical engineering in general. Abstracts are invited from authors on such topics as drilled shafts, augered piles, driven piles, construction and service issues related to piles, loading and integrity testing of piles and related case studies. Authors of the papers are encouraged to support/criticize or refer to O'Neill's work in their papers. Based on the review of the abstracts authors will be invited to write papers. In order to meet the deadline for publishing, papers will be due by the end of May for review. Based on the organizing committee decision, some papers will be selected for oral presentation and the others for poster presentation. All the papers will be published in the proposed GSP in memory of O'Neill with some of O'Neill's outstanding papers and a few invited papers.
Deadline: March 15, 2004 for 300-word abstract.
